Alligators exist at the University of Florida

Much to our surprise, we've been seeing more alligators around campus. Our son has become fixated on checking Graham pond, outside Graham Hall, regularly to see if there are gators.  Pretty much every time we've checked recently there is at least one gator of varying size, such as this fellow, which we saw today:

This is the first time I've seen one somewhere on campus other than Lake Alice, and just recently they've started to appear there, as well - here's a baby gator we saw:

Very strange - for awhile, it seemed the campus was making an effort to keep gators away from the shores of Lake Alice open to the public and anywhere else on campus - at least, that's what the conspiracy theorist in me believed.  Now the campus seems to be lousy with its mascot, these days.

Or perhaps its a portent of good tides for a Gator victory against evil rivals, FSU!
